Had the opportunity to attend a demo on how to make dishwashing bar soap in Bandar Baru Bangi today. By using used cooking oil (UCO) as one of the substances, we are actually helping to save the environment. Without having proper knowledge of disposing the oil, naturally we would tend to discard the oil into the kitchen sinks, onto the soil etc.<br />
.<br />
(*Session was held by Dr Hanisah Azhari of UKM.)<br />
<br />
1. The ingredients : used cooking oil, water and lye (sodium hydroxide, NaOH)<br />

3. The ‘recipe’... Note: Different types of soap require different recipes. This proces uses the<br />
cold press method. More on <a href="https://wellnessmama.com/77388/cold-process-soap/" target="_blank">cold</a> press.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
6. The next step will require precautionary measures and needs to be done at an open place (eg near the window, door or outdoor). Wear gloves and/or goggles. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
a) Put in NaOH little by little into the water. (Do not put water into NaOH). Stir slowly until NaOH crystals dissolved. (Note: the reaction will give out heat (exothermic reaction) , so it will be a bit hot. White vapour will also be released. Do not directly inhale it. )</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
b) Once the NaOH solution is cool, pour it into the UCO. Stir. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
7. Use a mixer to stir the mixture until it becomes a bit sticky (“trace”). Youcan add essential oil (about 1tablespoon), at this step. Mix and then pour the mixture into your preferred mould. Use a spatula to scrape the mixture that had stuck onto the mixture container.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Besides the normal necessities that one needs when travelling, this time around, i brought along my mangkuk tingkat/tiffin carrier/sia . Nope... not the traditional one but a modern version (got it free but still with the same function). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
1. A conversation starter with my youngest for she didn’t know the word sia. Hehe... blame it on mama. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
2. Avoiding wastage for we didn’t finish our lunch. Yes, we packed them. Horrified at others looking at us? Well, why should we? There are others who depend on Food Aid distribution. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
3. No other packaging material required since we ‘byo’ container. Yes... only a very small step by us towards avoiding packaging materials.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What are the essentials that you bring along with you?</div>

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">I had the opportunity to learn on how to make organic fertilizer last month. We made two types of liquid fertilizers; for growth and for flowering. For these we had to buy the ingredients. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Not wanting to spend my own money to make the fertiliser, I decided to use our household’s fruit peels or skin (eg kiwi, banana), leftover raw vegies (eg kangkong, cabbage) as the main ingredients. Another factor that was considered is ‘zero waste’ from the kitchen. Things that can be used should be used before they are thrown into the garbage bin. </span><br />

Kadang-kadang terasa kehidupan ini memenatkan. Bila tiada teman berbicara, teman memberi perangsang. Tapi itulah hakikat sebenar kehidupan....supaya kita berpenat2 menunaikan janji kita dengan-Nya.

Goodbyes can't be uttered,<br />

The day passenger train going south, pulled up at the Railway
Station. Passengers, some with children, took their luggage and headed
for the coach steps. Single filed, they went down. Some went straight
into the arms of waiting family, while some walked towards the station’s
doorway. A group of school boys, were busy getting down too. <br />
<br />
Unknowingly,
a pair of eyes was watching a young girl sitting in the coach. Standing
on the platform, waiting for friends to come down, he could see that
she was looking for her friends too. Friends who were boarding the
train.<br />
<br />
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br />
<br />
Ipoh was not her destination. <br />
<br />
‘What
a relief, those boys are getting down here!’ muttered the girl to
herself. They really know how to travel light. Not much luggage with
them. And they were walking up and down the coach just now, as if it was
their own train!<br />
<br />
She looked up and saw her girlfriends
coming towards her and motioned them to sit at seats in front and
beside her. Yes, time for girl chat.<br />
<br />
The station master blew his whistle. As the train was slowly pulling away from the station, she heard her name called….<br />
<br />
# What will be the next sentence be??? <br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Will it be 28 or 29 days of Ramadan for us? That kept on going in our heads before Eidul Fitr 1433H. It was such a looong time ago, since I last celebrated Eid outside of the country. Now, what about our zakat fitrah?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">One of the obligations during Ramadan, before Eid prayers, is for the head of the family to pay up 'zakat fitrah'. This I found peculiar to this area in Nong Prue whereby Pakar had to buy the equivalent amount of rice already prepared at the mosque, and made the aqad. Hmm...gotta find from him the 'price' of a cupak of rice later. Now, if I am not mistaken it was either 80Baht or 120Baht.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">On Saturday morning (2 June, 2012), we went towards Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate, which is in the Rayong province (Chonburi's neighbour). We took Route 331 and reached Khao Mai Kaeo Intersection (*Khao Mai Kaeo is a tambon/subdistrict within Bang Lamung amphoe/district). Turned left towards Bowin town. Saw lots of tapioca and pineapples planted along the road. We passed by Amata City Industrial Estate where according to hubby, BMW cars are being assembled. Took us about 45mins to reach our destination.</span></div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">------------------------------------------------</span></div>
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Took a snap of these buah salak at a road side stall. Fruits, and they are sweet and delicious, are abundant in this country. Be it mangoes, rambutans, pineapples (this you have to taste, simply love it).... </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; text-align: left;">Next was our visit to an outlet of the Big Bee Farm, Nongpralai, Bang Lamung. No entrance fee was charged here. Outside of the building, there were the honey combs and also apparatus used to get the honey. The lady staff was polite enough to warn hubby not to drop the bee-comb he was holding to the ground, or she'll be the first to run away. :) The honey products sold here are from the farm bees in Chieng Mai. Apparently, Chieng Mai boast of many types of flowers when compared to other parts of Thailand giving the best nectar as feed to the bees.</span></div>

I use pre-paid plan for my communication back home. The night I arrived, tried to make a call and sent sms but both didn't go through. Only incoming calls and sms were received (with roaming charges of course). It was different about 1.5 years ago. I could still make a call back then ... Hmm...these telecommunication plans change fast!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyway, bought a new SIM card. An AIS 1,2 Call for 50B with a bonus of 15B for usage. Then topped it up with 200B (equiv to RM19 or thereabout). And this morning, changed my FB mobile no. to the new no. so that I can receive and reply text messages via the handphone. </div>

Since most would live up to the tagline 'Now Everybody Can Fly', a wise move is to check the destination's power voltage. Buy an adaptor before hand or you might consider buying one when you reach your destination. I did both (psst...one was not enough)!!<br />

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Bottled drinking water is essential here. Be it for drinking purposes or for cooking. I noticed the water was fast diminishing in the big bottle last night. Just need hubby to fill it up before he goes to work. Before, in Khlong Nueng, we could just go down and fill the bottles at a water dispensing machine, but not here, since it's quite far to walk out.</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Dinner was taken at a road-side stall. <i>Khao mok </i>(sort of nasi minyak), chicken rice and kuetiaw soup. 160 Baht for 4 persons + 1 <i>saiklong</i> (tapau). The stall is located along the road where Masjid al Ikhsan is located, again off Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya. Stopped by at a fruit stall and bought 2.5kg mangoes. Cost us 50B. Rambutan, durian, mangosteen were also on sale. Going towards the main road (Sukhumvit), there's another masjid with a few Muslim operated food stalls outside its perimeter. So, halal food is not an issue, alhamdulillah.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The blog has been collecting webs for the past 10 months. Sigh!! With a little time on hand, decided to put in a few words...</span></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">We are back again in the Land of the Smiles but at a different location totally. The Province of Chon Buri is now 'the home'. From an apartment building in Pathum Thani, now it's a landed abode. A bit far from Suvarnabhumi Airport but it's the highway (Hiway 7) all the way. To reach the new place, we made a left turn before reaching Pattaya. It's about 4km off Sukhumvit Rd. Well, I like what I see... And what do I see? A small garden....:-)</span></div>

I've decided to divide them into a few themes. The first being the English garden. White coloured garden furnitures are synonymous with English theme garden. Three benches are placed at a corner, facing a water fountain, another must item for this type of garden. Water fountain attracts birds to the garden giving it a lively environment. Low level flowering shrubs are planted surrounding the small pond. Higher level plants are at the back of the benches screening from preying neighbours...(hehehe...)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu17qggv-Wtx-l0GxqJ2zLw6wwZyBdd64sSnFI4NRK7km3M2mI9RCHk_DPpiK-atGAVi29uiaQDHfwIXkJVS4-kFh2ok50n-49Dgo9ATDQ-LbX7QH3FxNrXfHj6KzgX7jOFp9jqyJ2twk/s1600/DSC03717.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhu17qggv-Wtx-l0GxqJ2zLw6wwZyBdd64sSnFI4NRK7km3M2mI9RCHk_DPpiK-atGAVi29uiaQDHfwIXkJVS4-kFh2ok50n-49Dgo9ATDQ-LbX7QH3FxNrXfHj6KzgX7jOFp9jqyJ2twk/s400/DSC03717.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630236489803195906" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Lovely flowering shrubs in red, yellow and white.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6vr27J1phcyFPlBkqxffd-LArkbqcewIOHLbGb1eEgPfYNJ4ctIDk4IXB_O__3XRKTXz_mypxyzuiWhzWzwvwztY_V4hyKQGclZvQOqZEAa8FKdR3XsdEro67PfhaTOi-DDCiHyH0XgM/s1600/DSC03713.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6vr27J1phcyFPlBkqxffd-LArkbqcewIOHLbGb1eEgPfYNJ4ctIDk4IXB_O__3XRKTXz_mypxyzuiWhzWzwvwztY_V4hyKQGclZvQOqZEAa8FKdR3XsdEro67PfhaTOi-DDCiHyH0XgM/s400/DSC03713.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5630236478889212098" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">A white gazebo with stools inside. Not wanting to waste these still-good pots I decided to take one to replace a broken one at home. Yes, for the <a href="http://lamanoflife.blogspot.com/2008/08/its-b-for-bougainvilla5.html">bougainvillae</a>...<div><br /></div><div>So, this morning the red flowered bougain was transferred to a 'new' pot. Small stones were first put in to cover the drain hole, followed by some black soil. The root ball of the bougain was loosen up a bit. Had become harden after about 2 years in the pot. Fertilizer was then scattered around the plant. Done.... with a little help from daughter to lift the heavy pot onto two bricks.</div><div><br /></div><div>Now, what am I going to do with the two broken pieces of the old pot? Any ideas?</div>Laman of Lifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05610115272637264921noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-802107062176220935.post-14118228276805249532011-07-08T12:00:00.000+08:002011-07-08T12:01:10.452+08:00I believe....<div style="text-align: center;">I believe after winter, there is spring.....</div>Laman of Lifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05610115272637264921noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-802107062176220935.post-25153140713684889162011-06-07T23:43:00.005+08:002011-06-09T08:56:16.328+08:00Plumeria alba a.k.a Kemboja Putih a.k.a Frangipani<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwO6FE0biFnEfBlUBhZ5c9zTuUX7oby48Zqe9pK9jGsOoRycFHvTvncPy-0mzPVv4yph_AjbwSoQPfjpVeYIcs52J0vOch8t88TKqGD8PmfOM9D4e0e92wPjqF6qcyxEQFjBvqOlGU5yc/s1600/alba4.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwO6FE0biFnEfBlUBhZ5c9zTuUX7oby48Zqe9pK9jGsOoRycFHvTvncPy-0mzPVv4yph_AjbwSoQPfjpVeYIcs52J0vOch8t88TKqGD8PmfOM9D4e0e92wPjqF6qcyxEQFjBvqOlGU5yc/s400/alba4.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615504386330560226" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">We only have one <i>plumeria alba</i> planted in the compound. This red species is planted in a pot and put in front of the house. Unfortunately, while working on a tree near the pot, Pakar accidently knocked the pot down and it broke. Haven't had time to buy a near one but alhamdulillah, the plant is still ok. A hardy plant indeed.<div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgzqdhzXYr48nAgwAi_RYVy7BtUKLIkNkw66_Q0xsZfa6j9fKtEewa9nw8fuMy7suIsp_tGnH0Dyq3AreiAMwdeWIsPfsXUBrhwENmMHQbWiJkLLW1SCx6_td55fKrslUwtI1MOooCl4/s1600/bougainred6.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="text-align: left;display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px; " src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglgzqdhzXYr48nAgwAi_RYVy7BtUKLIkNkw66_Q0xsZfa6j9fKtEewa9nw8fuMy7suIsp_tGnH0Dyq3AreiAMwdeWIsPfsXUBrhwENmMHQbWiJkLLW1SCx6_td55fKrslUwtI1MOooCl4/s400/bougainred6.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615492735729171970" /></a><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;">Another view...oh, i love the red colour...</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhewTCEYQA_1fMmVzLzKEmDoPUCEu0QCPDaarFvF4SszZmR_liuntKBJ5fq3xNDSXuryShrjv-8xJzNWs6vB05tIVIl_fNgCY6-V5Jy63XzhTw0gGbvXCJUDmuzP0WvcIyJZfQWsK3CqO4/s1600/bougainred5.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhewTCEYQA_1fMmVzLzKEmDoPUCEu0QCPDaarFvF4SszZmR_liuntKBJ5fq3xNDSXuryShrjv-8xJzNWs6vB05tIVIl_fNgCY6-V5Jy63XzhTw0gGbvXCJUDmuzP0WvcIyJZfQWsK3CqO4/s400/bougainred5.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615492734943536722" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Such vibrant colour.</div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHvdPGcKOua9PEUKwpB6PPx7zV0umsDMjTZB2u345VTpbZxuRzrroyfkbbApkSd5N3FMKqBxrdN5i7MIlMHAP7js4DY5nkT1Fh_pTJ6LiVZfyzfTZleZppj4qjlVUqTvhC2XA-xEuwkOw/s1600/bougainred4.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHvdPGcKOua9PEUKwpB6PPx7zV0umsDMjTZB2u345VTpbZxuRzrroyfkbbApkSd5N3FMKqBxrdN5i7MIlMHAP7js4DY5nkT1Fh_pTJ6LiVZfyzfTZleZppj4qjlVUqTvhC2XA-xEuwkOw/s400/bougainred4.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5615492726285339938" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">============================================================</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span">Posted on: 28/08/2008</span></div><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc0Dl8PVpAU-wPWEsoUKY9O-_Xu8UTsk16nGretrl-nean4xDrKGR2pC7ump3YVPUV4sWKKSYO6F8R_Ph3zmSXye60hlVHNuJ67FAJ-HeDcCqcZkAvwqnoJJOSFH-WaHg60rbR1eY0qQo/s1600-h/kertas1.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239389194657574594" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 233px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 170px" height="181" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc0Dl8PVpAU-wPWEsoUKY9O-_Xu8UTsk16nGretrl-nean4xDrKGR2pC7ump3YVPUV4sWKKSYO6F8R_Ph3zmSXye60hlVHNuJ67FAJ-HeDcCqcZkAvwqnoJJOSFH-WaHg60rbR1eY0qQo/s320/kertas1.JPG" width="255" border="0" /></a>Bougainvilla or <em>bunga kertas</em>, as popularly known, is a hardy plant. The ones that we have at home were given to us by our ex-babysitter, Kak Mashitah (or Kak Mas) from Kayu Ara, Damansara. So these plants are more than 20 years old!!<br /><p>There are the whites, fuschias/maroonish ones. All are in pots. The one that keeps on flowering is the white. One plant is the verigiated species.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnuQXgQ2dmM60qRyRASckpXxA_pVj_r8QIPtwDzoOS6N3lP0Ow8TOAKDDSnezPGqFZ5C7WQXL74aALIafWJn7ck01-kjbnSaHVLpOoRIFhgU7bQ0pJXmp1REg_4SgwuvxMyS-td_Kg9I/s1600-h/kertas2+(Custom).JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5260218163691626818" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 158px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 227px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnuQXgQ2dmM60qRyRASckpXxA_pVj_r8QIPtwDzoOS6N3lP0Ow8TOAKDDSnezPGqFZ5C7WQXL74aALIafWJn7ck01-kjbnSaHVLpOoRIFhgU7bQ0pJXmp1REg_4SgwuvxMyS-td_Kg9I/s320/kertas2+(Custom).JPG" border="0" /></a></p><br /><p>Have seen too, bougainvillas planted along the sides of the LEKAS highway. </p><p style="text-align: center;"><br /></p></div></div></div>Laman of Lifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05610115272637264921noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-802107062176220935.post-75891877721227600692011-05-26T22:46:00.006+08:002011-05-27T13:25:56.345+08:00Vertical Planting is the Word<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRcpeybiWd_RgrH5TPZgS7NNzWCHNd0CtgkRNH5EYbugG55KNnYC8ZMDu-t0VtCNxIf4lld2lZGQlpBYHwlJEiGqZ7SeGbt_2BUsLVVbL9ovTbMR9ggBd6h9j2tgN-hom1saGt5LHDLQY/s1600/vertvegie1.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjRcpeybiWd_RgrH5TPZgS7NNzWCHNd0CtgkRNH5EYbugG55KNnYC8ZMDu-t0VtCNxIf4lld2lZGQlpBYHwlJEiGqZ7SeGbt_2BUsLVVbL9ovTbMR9ggBd6h9j2tgN-hom1saGt5LHDLQY/s400/vertvegie1.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5611036633272284338" /></a><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">#1: Planted with vegie seeds which I can't remember the name... ;-) Bought the seeds at Giant, Nilai. A very large area to cover in a day indeed. It was the morning of Boxing Day 2010 but tourists had started pouring into the Garden. Since it was already time for the cultural and elephant shows to begin, the staff directed us to park our car nearest to the show area (after we paid the entrance fee that is!) What greeted us first was of course the elephants that were to perform shortly.</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLm7-Wa7iOnUffrLyJRfjpi-5A87WrT6TkVszbzMCCH7wnZbRhSQQwR5O69dgbekDswwExXJ9eWAdVSzcGzruZI172m5rpxCxMIH4sX0wcU0jmTLRBBATsEuJeQO8ay00JbcjcfH_RH_w/s1600/DSC02192.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhLm7-Wa7iOnUffrLyJRfjpi-5A87WrT6TkVszbzMCCH7wnZbRhSQQwR5O69dgbekDswwExXJ9eWAdVSzcGzruZI172m5rpxCxMIH4sX0wcU0jmTLRBBATsEuJeQO8ay00JbcjcfH_RH_w/s400/DSC02192.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569356948788009650" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_1QDBrVpCUWf-A-YZxPlO25UDgRJLPUhz23Qdo52y4M3GreEtSvXyPsSGqWpu9HyE5Jv9IMpFvKZUiLRDgbzI_dMgQSruS2gInoXzH9vuYY6ishk0S3Pc-592AGhRn2cZDEeQX1w18Sc/s1600/DSC02210.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_1QDBrVpCUWf-A-YZxPlO25UDgRJLPUhz23Qdo52y4M3GreEtSvXyPsSGqWpu9HyE5Jv9IMpFvKZUiLRDgbzI_dMgQSruS2gInoXzH9vuYY6ishk0S3Pc-592AGhRn2cZDEeQX1w18Sc/s400/DSC02210.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569356945031531858" /></a><br /><div><div style="text-align: justify;">The Thai cultural show showcased dances from most of the Thai provinces (above picture depicts the Southern region dance which uses the bamboo), short sketches in which the elephants were brought in, and also <i>muay thai</i> (Thai boxing). However, the plants and flowers kept me going though I do admit it was tiring. So, garden lovers, this is one attraction you should not miss when in the area of Pattaya-Sattahip. Based on the leaflet, the garden covers 652 acres! Variety of plants here which include the bromeliads, palms, cycads and other tropical trees and flowers. The garden is segmented to a few areas such as the French garden and the bromeliads. Water spouts coming from big, colourful vases further enhanced the serene and beauty of the areas. Walkways were also built to make it easier for visitors to walk and enjoy the garden.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXRs_bRYESJe8IPVCBhJS3-beurYc7PICUhDPsnXfBtrE1xgzK-PlZFR4f03DK02yBP2czDDH1IVXP7e_EEDd5yFjEi191tWMrom1nARdyg35BEJucVzXmrZPaZP_LIWFeErWmhKWgbN4/s1600/DSC02280.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXRs_bRYESJe8IPVCBhJS3-beurYc7PICUhDPsnXfBtrE1xgzK-PlZFR4f03DK02yBP2czDDH1IVXP7e_EEDd5yFjEi191tWMrom1nARdyg35BEJucVzXmrZPaZP_LIWFeErWmhKWgbN4/s400/DSC02280.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569356587227189026" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGb0PtlWmtgONjAPPvd5TvEEeWlIcjIv-Nr5yvTLLW_WgomyRWlT1lbuZuG1M5gcotUActOXKvHbZ_eWYIQeuB4W4VdJ55mzz-w5Tu2iODOJmneRnXwCqERMwtF5ntyJmL8OMB9fP2iXk/s1600/DSC02296.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGb0PtlWmtgONjAPPvd5TvEEeWlIcjIv-Nr5yvTLLW_WgomyRWlT1lbuZuG1M5gcotUActOXKvHbZ_eWYIQeuB4W4VdJ55mzz-w5Tu2iODOJmneRnXwCqERMwtF5ntyJmL8OMB9fP2iXk/s400/DSC02296.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569356585422296594" /></a><br /></div><div>Vertical planting was used extensively in certain areas (as in the above pic - background).</div><div><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZgArj_XoDB71YtPi2UxSU64e0Npi7TmJS9t0vGn8zoUsvofMXiTuc8mxo74_jk0mFBwOXEy7RQR6323DnuzKPawjigYqwE1XZvLroACaJCvpE_7KCzEzl_vKGOV8EYliv8sStA3Sb7xQ/s1600/DSC02305.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZgArj_XoDB71YtPi2UxSU64e0Npi7TmJS9t0vGn8zoUsvofMXiTuc8mxo74_jk0mFBwOXEy7RQR6323DnuzKPawjigYqwE1XZvLroACaJCvpE_7KCzEzl_vKGOV8EYliv8sStA3Sb7xQ/s400/DSC02305.JPG" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5569356580641581602" /></a><div style="text-align: center;">The French Garden. Went via Motorway 9, and after Tapchang Toll Gate and Suvarnabhumi Airport we took a left turn into Highway 7 to Chon Buri / Lat Krabang. Paid Baht30 at Lat Krabang Toll Gate, bypassed Lat Krabang and then made a 'pit-stop' at the Service Area (R&R). The area looks more like a small town when compared to Malaysia's R&R. With 4 lanes on both sides of the highway, the drive was smooth save for some bumpy ones when the road went over the small canals (I guess)</div><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEqra1QKesXOnTaRd3ItbQ2CISIs7Vr3w8mtDj3LKrBR4LOvkWjXFMz78EWh9jyt59QzDocS2FdWDZzTyqYIAI_zydsXTL9ukZDQcmleXRLuqlb1oQWZywu8rcXw9Ne7uVkC0GmHdnFKE/s1600/pattaya2212b.JPG"><img style="display: block; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEqra1QKesXOnTaRd3ItbQ2CISIs7Vr3w8mtDj3LKrBR4LOvkWjXFMz78EWh9jyt59QzDocS2FdWDZzTyqYIAI_zydsXTL9ukZDQcmleXRLuqlb1oQWZywu8rcXw9Ne7uVkC0GmHdnFKE/s200/pattaya2212b.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5555264988957441522" border="0" /></a>There was KFC, which daughter just had to content with looking at it only, 7 Eleven and few other local shops.
